When is the Deadline for SIM Registration in the Philippines?
Users have 180 days, or until April 26, 2023, to register their SIM cards under the SIM Card Registration Act. Users may not be able to use SIM card services if they do not register their SIM cards by the deadline.
What Happens If You Don't Register Your SIM Card?
If you don't register your SIM card, it will be deactivated, and you will no longer be able to make or receive calls, send or receive text messages, or access mobile applications and digital wallets. Deactivated SIM cards cannot be reactivated, and you will have to purchase a new SIM card and start the registration process again.
DOJ - SIM card registration extended for 90 days
The deadline, which was originally scheduled for April 26, has been extended by the authorities due to a low turnout in registration.
April 25, 2023, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. gave approval for the extension of the mandatory SIM registration period by 90 days, which will now extend beyond the initial deadline of April 26, 2023.
